The Columbus Civic Center regrets to announce tonight's Merle Haggard show has been canceled.

Haggard is ill and was hospitalized in Macon, Ga., on Tuesday. Haggard was scheduled to play in Macon Tuesday night, and the cancellation came just seven minutes before the start of the 7:30 show at the Macon City Auditorium, according to tour manager Frank Mull. Haggard, 74, has been sick since leaving his home in Northern California last week, Mull said.

Haggard's next scheduled concert is Thursday in Paducah, Ky.
